Bible Explorer is software for reading and studying the Bible. Formerly, it was a paid-based program, but now is offered for free. The core program can be enhanced by adding several extra modules. One of them is the Nave's Topical Bible. It is a book written by Orville James Nave, a chaplain of the US Army in the 19th century. The book took him more than ten years to complete, and is considered one of the most useful and comprehensive Biblical reference books. It features an alphabetic list of topics and sub-topics related to characters and episodes of the Bible, with their respective references. Thus, you can find, for example, the verses in which the Crucifixion of Christ is mentioned by searching the main topic of Jesus the Christ under the "J" letter. Then, you can search the History sub-topic, under which the Crucifixion subject appears. A very interesting feature of the program is that the verse hyperlinks are cursor-sensible; that is, you only need to place the mouse pointer over them and the program will display the corresponding Bible verse; thus, you don't have to open the Bible to search for those verses. As with the main program, this module is free of charge and can be downloaded directly from the program's interface.
